Ian began as an artist moving through the world of making into design.
Ian Cochran is an artist and designer working in Chicago. His debut into the design world began with the second annual exhibition “In Good Company” hosted by Fernando Mastrangelo Studio, where he made the first piece of resin furniture of the “Plump Series”. From that exhibition he was awarded as one to watch by Sight Unseens American Designer Hot List 2018. Ian has exhibited works at Wanted Design Manhattan, ICFF and Design Miami where his gallery Tuleste Factory won a best in show award 2022. He has also received the honor of being in Dwell Magazines “Dwell 24," a selection of the most promising creatives and duos, 35 and younger, who are testing the limits of art and design. Ian works with object making much the way he does in his artistic endeavors, investigating the visual phenomenon of our experiential world that both informs and inspires.
Material Variations, Limitations and Disclaimer
Resin as a material is easily repairable but care needs to be taken to keep it looking its best.
Coasters should be used on surfaces and felt feet should be applied to rough objects such as ceramic vases.
All surfaces should be cleaned with a soft rag or microcloth. Cleaners should be specifically for plastics. The preferred cleaner is Pledge Furniture Polish, it will leave a polished area without harming the material.
Do Not Use glass surface cleaners.
Coloring: Standard and Custom
The colors portrayed in the imagery on this website or provided during communications may be different in person. Due to the bespoke nature of the work and materials used, variations in tone, hue or saturation can happen both from the pigment process and from the shape and volume of the works. The studio provides material samples during the ordering process to help with this. However, transparent colored materials are affected by the lighting and backgrounds that they are against and will appear warmer or cooler, darker or lighter in their setting.
